RIDING IN A GROUP
Riding in a group can present several challenges to riders who are not used to doing so.
Set out below is some information that you may like to consider to help make riding in a group a safe but fun activity for everyone involved.

  • Above all else ride safely; make sure that you leave enough room between you and the rider or vehicle in front of you to allow you to stop in the distance you can see to be clear on your own side of the road.  If in any doubt, slow down and / or increase the distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.
  • At all times ride for yourself.  Just because the rider in front has gone round a bend at a certain speed or carried out an overtake at a certain place, it does NOT mean you should.
  • Please don’t ride in a manner that will alarm or annoy people. Let’s be considerate road users and help The Big Ride Out to make friends for motorcycling, as well as lots of money for good causes.
  • Please DO NOT attempt to block roads or junctions or to hold up traffic to allow other bikes to pass. The Big Ride Out does NOT have any permission or authority to do so. At junctions, take your turn and take your time. Just because the three bikes in front made it across does not mean you could, should or will!
  • Have a happy, safe ride, raise loads of money for the good causes, enjoy the dayand get home in one piece.
